.....Many
members of the community joined the congregation of Oakland Christian Church
in celebrating the church's new building addition with a dedication service
and open house on Sunday, Feb. 26, 2006.
.....The
6,600-square-foot, tri-level addition includes a new handicapped-accessible
entryway, an elevator providing access to all levels of the church, a large
foyer, classrooms, staff offices, restrooms, a library and a small courtyard.
A large new fellowship area and kitchen are still under construction.
....."We
see new opportunities to reach out to our community as we remove barriers
that have kept people from being able to attend our services," said Tony
Crouch, OCC's minister at that time.
....."Building
for Today and Tomorrow" was the church's theme as its leaders began planning
and preparing for the building addition in 2005.
....."We
had spent the last few years talking, planning and praying for the opportunity
to add on to our growing church," Crouch said. "We're excited to see the
progress that went from dreaming to planning to building. I can't begin
to thank all those who have had a hand in our building addition."
